The Darker Side(Spazz)

[Sly]

He had no idea how it happened, no recollection really other than he had mouthed off to some kid who wasn't too kind about it. The kid cornered him with a few of his buddies and roughed him up pretty good, next thing he knew he was being dragged off to the refuge. He sat on the floor in the very back of the room, his head tilted back against the wall, his eyes closed as he hummed softly to himself. He could still taste the slight metallic bitterness of blood in the back of his throat as he finally opened his eyes he spit to the side, the blood staining the floor as he looked toward the door. He'd be lucky to get out now, he'd be lucky if anyone he knew had seen him and sent word to Spazz or Missy that he had been caught.

He heard it, the outraged voice of the girl being dragged down the hall and he chuckled abit, he knew that voice and he was damn well surprised she had gotten caught. He watched the guards toss the brunette girl onto her knees infront of him and slam the door behind them. Sly tilted his head and smirked eyeing her, she looked pretty banged up too, but he knew it probably was from the guards and not from losing a fight."What brings you to this lovely place sweetheart?"Sly mused and at this he saw Baby's eyes flash up at him as she scowled and pushed him abit so she had a spot to sit in. "None of yer business, how da hell did ya get in hereh?" she asked him as she looked him over. Sly rolled his eyes and ruffled his hair and gave her a cocky look,"Wouldn't ya like to know," he threw her words right back at her. She growled and looked toward the window,"Whateveh,not important, whats important is us findin a way outta hereh," she seethed.

[Spazz]

The young leader paced back and forth and repeated that act for a while as he looked at Missy. His eye began to twitch as he wondered where Sly was. he might have skipped supper but it was dark outside. Spazz looked to Missy walking over to her putting both hands on her arms shaking her back and forth. "Where is he Missy, he knows he can't just leave me! He loves me he promised we had..." Spazz stopped his words that was too much information as he bit his bottom lip walking to the window looking out. He saw a few kids walking back as he ran out Missy's room and went the the stair rale and put his bum on it and slide down opening the door shoving through the kids looking at each other their faces. Spazz fell to his knees cuffing his face as he tried to stop his thoughts from racing about what could have happened.

Although he wanted to cry he didn't he stood up, he's find his baby boy, he knew he was out there he sensed it. Spazz walking in grabbing his hat and his coat bundled up. "My baby's out there and I's gonna find him I's am." Spazz shouted as he ran down the stairs taking fight running down the street as the Stateners watched a giggled a little. Spazz ran as far as he could to the Ferry, he knew Sly didn't sell around Staten so he decided to go to the other side of New York. On the Ferry Spazz tried to gather his thoughts he began mumbling to himself looking around at the other members on the ferry. "What you's nevah saw a boy worried about his boyfriend that just left after a night like the othah ey'? We made love!" Spazz said angerily as they hit docks.

The boy got off as he walked the streets he watched as a few newsies walk they were talking about jumping a boy. They talked about his drunk attitude and his hair, the brown eyes with the black ring around one, they mentioned his name 'Sly' this drove Spazz manic. They laughed talking about how they roughed him up. Spazz followed in the shadows till the boys split. He followed one boy into an alley. Spazz walked fast as he could feel his mind facing and his heart pulsing as he attacked the boy getting on top of him punching his face multiple times with both fists. Spazz let the boy that was now covering his face look up. "You's like beating up on my baby? You's like it?" Spazz said as he hit the boy some more his fists swollen and his knuckles bloody but it wasn't his blood. "Where is he?" Spazz gestured to punch as the boy flinched. "He's in the refuge please please stop! Spazz got up to his feet kicking the boy in his ribs twice. "Did you stop when he asked? Dats for my baby and if you's boys want some tell em I's Spazz leader of Staten come sees meh." Spazz said leaving to boy in the alley a bloody mess.

He walked quickly as he got to the refuge as he watched the guards, Spazz decided to go up to the roof and climb down to where the cells were. When he got up to the roof he looked down and got a rush as he climbed window to window giving Sly's description and they all pointed to the next window. Spazz finally got to it looking in seeing him with a girl. He did get a little jealous as he whispered through the open window. "Sly you's get yer ass ovah heah before I's fall and break my head!" Spazz whispered looking down making sure he wasn't seen.

[Baby]

Baby had been scoping the area from top to bottom just sitting there and when she heard the whisper from the window she nudged Sly and chuckled,"Prince charmins hereh ta save ya," she muttered. Sly looked at her with wide eyes,"How'd ya know dat...oh yeah birdie...damnit," he muttered. Baby rolled her eyes and shook her head,"Dat and da fact ya announced it ta da woild at da Christmas parteh doofus," she said as she shoved him toward the window. Sly scowled and shoved her back not really hard though as he got to his feet and stumbled for a moment before gaining his balance and walking over to the window, leaning against the wall abit as he looked out at Spazz,"How's in da hell are ya all da way up hereh?" he asked as he tried to see if a rope was attached to his boyfriend.

Baby looked around the room and stood up to try and get a better look as she pushed some boys and girls out of her way and climbd up on a set of bunks, trying to find a vent or something that would be seen as a way to get out. She sighed and pushed a hand through her hair before she walked over to the window and leaned against the other side of the wall,"Dere's a vent in da corneh of da room... if we can get yer little bum up dere, ya's can get to da otheh side of da door and let us out,"

[/i]she told Sly. Sly looked her over for a minute, he did trust her after all she was a Brooklyn girl,they knew what they were talking about most of the time...well all the time. He glance to Spazz for reassurrance,"Think dats a good idea Spazzy?" he asked as he flipped his hair out of his eyes and watched Baby chew her bottom lip for a moment before looking back at his boyfriend.[/center]

[Spazz]

Spazz looked up as he giggled at Sly a little "You's my baby I's can do the impossible for you." Spazz blushed a little pointing up showing Sly there was no ropes holding him up. As Spazz's eyes shifted to the corner of the room he squinted, yes there it was a vent. Spazz watched the exchange of words and could feel his hand throbbing as he help on the the window's welded bars. Spazz looked at Sly. "I's think so and I's escaped from heah before after you let her out take a sharp right and a room will read maintenance. You's can read right Sly?" Spazz asked raising his eye brow as he looked down making sure the coast was clear. "Open the door and there will be a staircase to the left, it will lead to the roof I's catch you up there good luck." Spazz kissed his hand and put his hand through the bars touching his boyfriend's forehead smiled flipped his hair and started to worked his way backwards.

Spazz looked down as his heart raced a little he hoped he was quite accurate with his directions to Sly as his bi-polar mood kept its guard as he held on the the bars walking the window sils. When he got back to the fire escape he walked up the stairs and went over to the door holding his hand as he bit down hard his hand hurt he might have broken a knuckle of that boy in the alley's skull. Spazz couldn't wait to tell Sly about what had occurred in the alley.

[Sly]

It took abit of effort for him to get up into the vent with Baby's help and when he crawled through and hopped down, he half debated on just getting himself out and not going back for Baby but he went back for her reluctantly. When he opened the door, Baby slipped out and they followed the directions Spazz had given them, soon enough reaching the rooftop. Sly rushed to Spazz as soon as they got onto the roof and he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend in relief,"I's missed ya, I's so glad ya came fer meh," he cooed before Baby looked around and looked over her shoulder at them. "Ya's two gonna play butt tag or somethin or ares we gonna get outta hereh,"she asked as she pointed to the fire escape and she made her way to it.

Sly looked at Baby sticking his tongue out at her before turning and kissing Spazz quickly before taking him by the hand and rushing to the fire escape and down and when they hit the pavement he wrapped his arms behind Spazz's waist from behind and walked behind him lovingly as Baby followed with her hands in her pockets, they were behind the building at this point, so they were free pretty much as long as they didn't come across any guards.

[Spazz]

This mania was going to drive Spazz crazy as he listened to footsteps and out came Sly. When Sly thanked him he blushed and looked down a little and felt Sly's arms around him he did the same holding Sly tight as he flipped his hair to the side. "How's could I's leave my baby heah in dis place? What kinda boyfriend would I's be ey'?" Spazz said as his mushy talk was interrupted by Baby's screech of a voice. "No butt tag, that'd be too much of a show for a goil like you to enjoy." Spazz said as he winked at Sly and Sly grabbed his good hand leading him down the fire escape.

When they reached ground level Spazz felt Sly holding him from behind he melted a little letting out a squeak as he put his hand behind him pulling Sly close. "I's missed you too, I's was worried about you's lets not do that again Ey'?" Spazz said raising his eyebrow for agreement as they walked getting to the street behind the refuge. Spazz jumped hyperly turning to Sly "Oh Sly you's be so proud of your tough little Staten! Dose boys dat beat ya up I's caught up wit one of dem and I's hoit him pretty bad." Spazz puffed out his chest showing Sly his hand."I's think I's broke it, but I's told em I's did, you's have a problem with my baby you's talk it to me! I's Spazz leadah of Staten Island!" Spazz said placing himself back in front of Sly putting Sly's arms around him as he put his head back on Sly's shoulder. "Sly You's play nurse wif meh tonight? I's let you stay wif me ey' I's need some love." Spazz said as he looked back and up at Sly with his pouty lip and his golden puppy dog eyes.

[Sly]

Baby rolled her eyes and they went their seperate ways, her heading to Brooklyn and the two boys going toward the ferry docks to go back to Staten. Sly kept close to Spazz and looked up at him with wide childlike eyes of amusement at his boyfriend's words,"Ya's did? Did ya get him good? I'sa broked his jaw if I's could but I's not a good figteh...maybe ya's can teach me some time..." he said proud of his boyfriend but part embarrassed about his own inability to fight. When they made it to the ferry he squeezed Spazz's hand in his and smiled at his boyfriend's suggestion for the night of taking care of each other,"I's take care of yer booboos and you's take care of mine, we can both take turns playin docteh we can yes we can,"he said nodding assurringly as he smiled and his eye hurt abit and it twitched but he ignored it.

[Spazz]

Spazz looked down at Sly's admitting he couldn't fight. The thought was a little weird, but Sly was his baby he'd protect him at all cost. But if he needed to travel alone Spazz could teach him at least self defense. "I's teach ya Sly I's protect you with all I's am too Mon amour." Spazz smiled holding Sly looking at his eye as he moved closer kissing gently. "I's take care of you's too I's will. We's can take turns we's can." Spazz said looking at the ferry as it pulled in Spazz took Sly's hand and walked aboard.

As the ferry took of and the two ventured back to Staten Spazz took out a little flask he his it as he took a drain handing it to Sly. Spazz moved to the front of the ferry with Sly, he looked at the moon and the stars the sea mist his his face as he smiled and looked to the passengers and walked over to them. It seemed to be the same ones from earlier he announced to. "Oh I's told you I's find him Yes I's did ey' We's going back to my room and play doctor and make love!" Spazz announced as he grinned walking back to Sly putting his back to Sly and holding Sly's hands around him as the ferry cruised. "Gosh I's love you Sly so much I's so happy."

The ferry hit Staten as Spazz walked beside Sly cuddling close wrapping his arm around Sly's waist as the two arrived to at the lodge house. It was almost bedtime as Spazz opened the door looking at the kids running around some tired some not. Spazz walked up to Missy and hugged her tight. "I's sorry I's shook you earlier I's was nervous." The small boy slipped his hair and walked into the kitchen grabbing a couple rags and a bucket full of ice. He also grabbed some bandages and some medicine. Spazz turned and started to walk up the stairs turning around looking at all the kids cuffing his hands in a cone to amplify his voice. "It's bedtime I's getting babied no one's to bug me ey'!" Spazz shouted as he hand gestured for Sly to follow. He walked up the stairs making it to his room as he waited for Sly to enter when he did Spazz locked the door walking over to the bed kicking off his shoes and setting down the medical supplies he had gathered. "Come now Mon amour I's shall love on you's and take care of you's baby." Mon amour was my love in french as Spazz spoke it so deep with meaning to the words of his language.

[Sly]

Sly smiled at Spazz being lovey with him when they boarded the ferry and he watched Spazz pull out a flask, he took a long drink and smiled wide in satisfaction before he watched Spazz announce their personal business to the passengers as he blushed bright red. He laughed abit at how disturbed some passengers looked before he was engulfed in Spazz's embrace for the journey across the water.

When they reached the lodge house he rushed around saying hi to people and when Spazz headed upstairs he followed in pursuit when they reached his room he stripped down and lit the candles around the room before crawling into bed in his underwear and only his underwear as he smiled and patted the spot beside him,"I's wanna take care of yer hand first Spazz... dat looks painful da hero deserves to be babied and nursed back ta health first," he said cutely as he reached for Spazz's good hand and tilted his head,"How's do we fix yer hand it looks busted up," he said sadly.

[Spazz]

The color of pink came upon Spazz's cheeks as his boyfriend stripped he looked down to see his clothes were still on. When Sly came over to him he kissed his cheek. "One second." Spazz said eagerly as he hopped off the side of the bed unbuttoning his shirt and removing it. Then his pants as he stood in his underwear matching Sly on his level of nudity. Spazz listened to Sly's words he looked down shrugging into his shoulders as he looked back up. Was he really a hero? Sly was there with Baby she was a bird after all they probably could have escaped with out his help. Spazz looked at his hand as chills went up his spine the younger leader walked to his closet pulling out a belt as he walked slowly across the room back to the bed.

Spazz climbed in bed as he held the belt. "Don't you's get too excited this isn't for you's." Spazz teased as he looked at the cut where impact was done to Sly's eye he got a little angry to be honest he wanted to handle the other two goons that hurt Sly. Spazz looked at the belt as he held his hand out to Sly. "You's gottah rebreak it or it won't set right, take my knuckle under my index finger and my pinkie knuckle and flatten them both till they meet with a cracking noise." Spazz took in a breath and then let it out slowly as he put the belt in his mouth biting down on it. "Just do it Sly."Spazz asked innocently as he closed his eyes tight in anticipation waiting for Sly to re-break his hand.

[Sly]

Sly watched Spazz carefully go to the closet and extract a belt and when he did, Sly's eyes widenned for a moment until Spazz informed him it wasn't for use one him. He listened carefully to Spazz's words and he cringed at the thought of hurting his baby boy and the sound of bones cracking. He gave Spazz the saddest look of puppy dog eyes and a pout, he didn't want to do it but as soon as Spazz told him to do it, he couldn't argue.He took in a deep breath and took Spazz's hand in his seperating the index and pinkie finger accordingly before he took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled,"One...two...three" he pushed hard against Spazz's hand and cringed at the bone cracking sound and scooted back for a moment dropping Spazz's hand gently. He took in a few deep breaths before crawling back over to Spazz and wrapping his arms around him, putting his boyfriend's head on his chest,"Shhhh Spazz it'll be alright I's promise," he whispered soothingly.

[Spazz]

"Merdeee!" Spazz cursed. The feeling of his bones being reset sent a shock through out the boys body as his eyes filled with tears and the belt fell from his mouth and his eyes widened, his teeth showing as he bit down hard trying to not scream. For a moment he wasn't hold but as he listened to Sly's heart bet and felt his boyfriend's embrace things started to not hurt so bad. Spazz hushed for a moment as his eye twitched off the tear that was on his right eye. After a moment of silence and getting his head straight Spazz managed to let out a small smile. "I's fine now Sly only since you's heah wif meh." Spazz admitted as he looked to the bandage. His hand was set correct as he wrapped his hand tight in a bandage with Sly's help. Spazz turned around and looked at Sly "You's turn bebe." Spazz said as he looked at the iodine and cringed.

Spazz took a towel and poured some on as he looked at the cut near Sly's eye. "This'll sting but it's okay it'll clean it bebe." Spazz said as he got on his knees moving close to Sly as he dabbed the cut with iodine. He knew it burned he was very careful not to get it in Sly's eye as he smiled and then took a piece of gozz and some medical tape and put it carefully over the cut. Spazz kissed it gently and looked at Sly's eye/cheek region. Spazz awaited a reaction from Sly then pulled Sly back and fluffed the pillow letting his boyfriend's head rest on it. Spazz then took some ice wrapping it in a towel and held it to the swollen area. "You's okay my love?" Spazz asked as he wiped away Sly's hair from his forehead kissing it as he continued to rub.

[Sly]

Sly winced at the sting of the iodine on his wounds and he leaned into his boyfriend for comfort and when Spazz layed him down comfortably, he looked up at his boyfriend with big wide eyes and he winced abit at the ice being set on his head and he bit his bottom lip,"Ouchies... dat hoits... I's onleh oks cause you's is hereh ta take care of meh... cuddle meh Spazz?" he asked as he reached his arms out to Spazz and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend and gently pulled Spazz down to lay beside him, letting the ice pack fall from Spazz's hand to the floor as he just held his boyfriend tight and burried his face against Spazz's neck,"I's jus' wants ta be loved on," he cooed.

[Spazz]

Spazz bit his bottom lip and felt empathy when his boyfriend told him it hurt. Spazz knew it would after all it had to be cleaned Missy would always say. Spazz smiled when Sly asked him to cuddle the feeling of his boyfriend's hands on his waist pulling Spazz beside him made Spazz smile. Spazz moved close to Sly he lifted the blankets over the two of them as he smiled resting his head on Sly's chest and putting his leg over Sly's. Spazz could feel the warmth of Sly's body he nuzzled his face into Sky' chest as he looked up at Sly. "Loved on like dis Ey? I's love on you Sly." Spazz said as he traced Sly's stomach with his finger tips. He took in a breath thinking for a moment about how he wouldn't want to be this close to any other person in the world. Sly made him complete, made him happy with the tiniest amounts of effort. Perfect in Spazz's eyes as he himself wasn't so prefect, trouble some and quick to speak and act on his emotions.

Spazz looked up at Sly again still tracing his stomach. "Hows you do it Sly, You's make me someone I's not, I's never calm no not I's." Spazz said wondering if this was really what love was, it had to be. He couldn't describe changing for anyone. Spazz didn't change for his newsies, or anyone but Sky thought it was a very small change in his attitude and his outlook on things. "I's just don't understand how I's can feel so loved. I's not all good you know?" Spazz cocked his head and looked down for a moment, it was true the young leader of Staten Island was far from ordinary.
