Personality: Chip is very naive. He is young at heart due to his shelter of the world. He is very outgoing. He loves a great adventure. He always wants to be young at heart, so he can always have fun. His mind set is what ever doesn't kill him will make him stronger. Chip is loud he likes to make his appearance known, yet when he is on his perch he is quite. He likes to spy and be quite secretive at times. When it comes to his believes he gets offended quite easily. He doesn't like to be judged and sure to say if anyone pushes him too far he'd knock em one. Chip can be very protective at times when he feels close to someone. Chip shows a little jealousy and can easily block it out by acting as if it doesn't bug him. He is strong at heart and doesn't care what people think unless they dig at him. Then he's easy to snap or break under pressure.
History: Growing up under the cameras, media and the the people was the life style this young boy was born into. Born to be a star as his parents always put it. The family was always traveling seeing different shows, making guest appearances. Chip always sat in the crowd watching as a young child. He loved the stories, the fairy tales, the pirates everything. Every show had a different ending, every plot different Chip loved it. One day when he was old enough he would play in his first show. His parents forced him into it, after all age 9 a boy was quite shy, but he did have a huge imagination.
Getting on stage was fun, he watched as the theater filled up and the people watched the prologue. Chip smiled as he played a young character that was kidnapped by pirates and he escaped. The flowers were tossed on stage as he did his first bow. What more could a boy ask for. He continued acting for a few more years. The traveling was fun, but he always heard his parents talking about the money it took to travel eat. As the started to budget they talked of Chip getting a part time job. It was hard enough being schooled on the road let alone have a job he thought. Now it seemed as if his parents wanted him to 'grow up.' Chip shook his head Never will I grow up. He assured himself.
A show in New York a half a year later made Chip smile, he looked around as Medda Larkson took the stage and won his heart. Chip went back stage with his parents after and got to meet Medda. He introduced himself as Sean with a charming tone in his voice as he was getting ready to take the stage. He was 14 now and his parents had to have the man talk with him. They spoke of this being his final show and acting as if he didn't care he went to Medda. "They are making me grow up, I can't it's not fair, show me out of here I'll make it on my own." He said to her as she must have know what it was like by watching him and his parents argue. She showed him out back and he ran down the alleys till her saw her. Her name was Dove he explained to her what was going on, she seemed a little mad and dragged him to Brooklyn where he met Spot. Spot seemed tough, Chip tried to explain what was going on to Spot. The older boy was rude and denied him at the lodge house. The girl obeyed him and a long walk back across the Brooklyn Bridge got Chip a little annoyed.
As the boy started to watch other Newsies sell he figured he could too. He wasn't scared of a little money he looked at the three quarters in his pocket as he bought 50 cent worth. At first it was a little hard but he noticed ladies liked to talk to him more. He was nice yet the first time he noticed a women with a child he decided to go into story mode. He placed the papers aside as he told of the fierce pirates and the people took papers and dropped money in their spots. The kids were entertained the the mothers and fathers liked this. By now the boy looked a little weathered and dirty so they could tell her was a news boy. But with his lisp and English accent not from here. Maybe a traveler in their minds. A few weeks of doing that and staying on the streets he became quite good at it.
It was a Friday night and he walked after selling his hundred papers of the day to treat himself. Not know he was in Harlem he ran into a couple street thugs. They tried to scare the boy, but Chip wasn't scared. Threats were unheard and the boys flashing chains and first didn't bother him. An adventure fighting the pirates that wanted his gold crossed his him as he gave the older boys a smile pulling out a slingshot that was used on stage as a prop once pulled out some stones. Loaded his sling shot and began to fire as the boys ran on and he blew on his sling shot "Ah ha and don't you come back, you.." Then a feeling on his shoulder a hand as he turned around to see Spot Conlon. The dialog went something like this:
"Thats a pretty good shot ya got der kid."
"Oh it was nothing just imagined Pirates taking my go."
Spot covered his mouth
"Hows bout ya come back to Brooklyn and sell with meh and my Newsies?"
"Ohhh I thought you didn't want me there."Says joking
"Want med ta change my mind, and show you how to shoot from the targets point of view?"
Looks down"Nope I'll take your offer."
"Thats what I's thought. Name?"
"Sean O'Conner!"
Laughs to self at the way he said Sean Your name now is Chip cause of dat lisp you got and the crack in ya's tooth."
"Thats not nice."
"Who said I's was nice? You's comin' or not?" Begins to walk away
"I have no other choice.." Follows to Brooklyn
And that is how Chip became a Brooklyn Newsie and a Bird.
