Personality:
Sammy is not like most people would expect a thief to be. He is a sweetheart to be honest, he loves to flirt and he would put others before himself if they meant enough to him. He does have his dark side though, its his job to and when anyone interferes with his job he will not be so kind. He takes his job as a spy for Ryder for seriously and he doesn't like people getting in his way and when they do, he will call them out on it or fight them whatever is easier at the time. He has somewhat of a bi-polar thing going on because one minute he can be the sweetest thing ever and innoccent like but then a minute later he can be blood thirsty, money hungry and tempermental.
History:
Sam grew up in the Bronx from the time of his birth but he was immediately handed to an orphanage because his parents didn't want him, they were too busy doing drugs and being alcoholics to want their son. He grew up in the orphanage for years and when others picked on him, Sammy learned to fight back. He was the kid who watched everything like a fly on the wall and if you messed with him, he had blackmail on you and wasn't afraid to tell the caretakers on you. By age 9, Sammy had been given his nickname at the orphanage because nobody seemed to notice when he was around but he knew everything about everyone else.
At the age of 11 Shadow took off from the orphanage though, tired of being neglected and picked on. He roughed it on the streets for about a year before he came into contact with Ryder. Ryder took the boy under his wing just as he had with Blade. Shadow became Ryder's trusted spy, whenever things were going down amongst the newsies or anything that Ryder needed to know about, Shadow would find out what it was. Shadow is now 17, living in the apartment down the hall from Ryder, Ryder helps pay his rent but for the most part, Shadow makes his money by pick pocketing and charging others for his information and blackmailing skills.
