Personality:
Cowgirl is not your typical Southern girl, but she does have the drawl. She is a total sweetheart and she is quite outgoing. She loves to interract and be social with people as much as she can. She can be shy around new people but she often takes the time to get to know people. Cowgirl often plays with the younger newsies and looks after them when she can. She loves to cook when she has the capability to do so and she is almost always humming a tune. She is very logical and almost always thinks things through thoroughly before acting.
History:
Born in California, Ashlin was raised by her grandparents on a ranch where by the age of 10 she knew how to feed, groom and ride horses. But as Ashlin grew older, her grandparents grew ill, her grandafather passed when she was 9, her grandmother grew very ill when she was 11. At 11 years old, Ashlin took care of her grandmother for as long as she could but when her grandmother passed, the people who took her into custody didn't know where to send her, so they sent her to New York to an orphanage. It didn't take long for Ashlin to endure some abuse from the caretaker that at age 12, she ran from the orphanage.
On the streets, at first she wasn't sure of what to do but she began sleeping under bridges and singing on street corners for change. She came across a young boy hollering headlines and she had asked what he was doing. He explained to her everything there was to know about the newsies and this was when he led her straight to Sinner, the Manhattan leader at the time. Sinner was easy going and couldn't put someone of her age back on the streets, so he accepted Ashlin with open arms to the borough, had his younger kids help her learn the ropes and she earned her nickname by her knowledge of horses and her slight Southern accent she had inherited from her grandparents because they were from Tenessee. Now at 17, Cowgirl keeps her head up and tries to do her best for Jack and helps whenever she can.
